Ceres police officials on Friday asked the public to help find a woman wanted for questioning in an identity theft investigation, which involves numerous fraudulent prescriptions from February to May.

Police said the woman appears to be 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and with brown hair. She appeared to be pregnant at the time of some of the incidents. The woman usually had a young boy with her when dropping off and picking up the prescriptions. In the most recent store security camera photos, it appeared that she had given birth, possibly in April or May; she was photographed with an infant.

Ceres police released security camera photos Friday afternoon. Anyone who recognizes the woman in the photos is asked to contact Detective Darren Venn at (209) 538-5616 or darren.venn@ci.ceres.ca.us.

Tipsters also can call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636, email tips through the Crime Stoppers Web site, www.stancrimetips.org, or text tips to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus a message. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward.
