— Emergency responders have descended on Oakdale Junior High School this morning for a training event.

According to the Oakdale Unified School District, the training will depict an “active shooter” scenario similar to school shootings that have taken place in other areas.

It will involve police officers, firefighters and ambulance crews from 8 a.m. to noon.

“We want our families to be aware so there is no stress or anxiety that students’ safety is at risk at Oakdale Junior High School,” the district said in a message sent to parents.
