Newly minted plays will be staged during the annual New Play Fest at Modesto Junior College through next weekend. A chance for budding playwrights to have their short works staged for an audience, the event offers six one-act plays written by seven students that will be acted and directed by students in the MJC theater department.

Back to Graffiti
For 20 years, the Back to Graffiti fest has cruised into the Fruit Yard restaurant, as part of the region's Graffiti Summer. This year's event is this weekend, with tonight featuring live music by River Rising and a mesquite barbecue.
