Monument wraps Modesto arch restoration

June 11, 2013

Newcomers and visitors to Modesto can guess that the downtown arch has special significance, but now they can learn a little of the history, explained on a monument that has been placed nearby.

Credit for it goes to the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, the city and Estanislao Chapter No. 58 of E Clampus Vitus, which has erected historical markers around our region.

The monument wraps the arch restoration effort project, which began in August and concluded with a celebration in late October.
