Modesto Nuts rally past San Jose Giants in 10 innings

June 11, 2013

— Taylor Featherston's two-run triple capped a four-run, 10th-inning rally that helped the Nuts pull out an improbable 6-2 victory over the San Jose Giants on Monday night.

Held scoreless for seven innings, the Nuts got on the scoreboard in the eighth courtesy of a Ryan Casteel's 12th home run of the season, a solo shot to left leading off the frame.

Modesto tied the game with two down in the ninth when a passed ball allowed Featherston, who hit a one-out double, to score from third. The Nuts took their first lead in the 10th on a run-scoring single by Trevor Story. Brian Humphries followed with an RBI single, then Featherston's two-run triple sealed the win.
