Lunch program is trashing Modesto's Sylvan Park

June 10, 2013

To my neighbors around Sylvan Park, my apologies. I have spent up to 45 minutes every day cleaning up the trash scattered in the park for the past 18 months. With the start of the free lunch program last week, there is so much trash left lying around, I am no longer cleaning it up.

The parks department told me I have to catch them leaving the trash at lunch time, then call enforcement to have them issue a citation. I have decided to give up. Please understand why you will be finding trash blown into your yards, as the lunch program sponsors cannot live by their agreement for use of the parks.
