Focus on Education: Stanislaus County school boards to meet

OAKDALE TO MEET: The Oakdale Unified School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the Oakdale City Council Chamber, 277 N. Second Ave. Trustees will be asked to approve the 2013-14 budget, contracts for assistant superintendents and chief business officer, and a change of job title raising the director of pupil services to assistant superintendent, pupil services and facilities. SYLVAN TO MEET: The Sylvan Union School District board will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the district boardroom, 605 Sylvan Ave. Trustees will consider a $333,000 change order for the $4.5 million modernization project at Sherwood School. See the agenda at http://bit.ly/SylvanBoard.

COUNTY BOARD TO MEET: The Stanislaus County Board of Education will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Stanislaus County Office of Education boardroom, 1100 H St. Trustees will consider a new county office charter school for dropouts ages 16 to 23 called Come Back Kids. CERES TO MEET: The Ceres Unified School District board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the district boardroom, 2503 Lawrence St., Ceres. Trustees will consider the 2013-14 budget and textbooks for the dual language program at Lucas School.
