GOSPEL SINGER TO SPEAK

Where: Riverbank Historical Museum, 3237 Santa Fe St.

Info: Herb Henry, a gospel singer, broadcaster and minister, will talk about growing up in Riverbank in the 1950s and 1960s. The event is part of the monthly Memories Day series, held by the Riverbank Historical Society the second Tuesday of each month. The public is welcome; refreshments will be served.

NEWCOMERS AND FRIENDS CLUB

When: Wednesday, 10 a.m.

Where: Marie Callender's restaurant, 3500 Coffee Road

Info: The Newcomers and Friends Club of Modesto is a social club where women have the opportunity to meet others with similar interests. It is open to anyone, whether you have lived here 10 days or 10 years. There is also a book club and a monthly no-host luncheon at a restaurant.
