Modesto Nuts lose slugfest at Stockton

— Three-run homers by Max Muncy and B.A. Vollmuth highlighted a seven-run third-inning uprising that carried the Stockton Ports to a 9-7 victory over the Modesto Nuts on Friday night at Banner Island Ballpark.

Tyler Massey and Trevor Story homered and knocked in two runs apieces for Modesto, which outhit Stockton 13-10. Will Swanner had three hits and an RBI, while Massey, Story, Taylor Featherston, Jared Simon and Brian Humphries had two hits each.

Stockton tagged Modesto starter and California League All-Star Chris Jensen for seven runs on seven hits in 2ª innings. Reliever Nick Schnaitmann (2-4) allowed two runs in three innings and was saddled with the loss.

Blake Hassebrock (2-3) allowed one runs in three innings of relief to pick up the win. Jonathan Joseph pitched two scoreless innings for his fourth save.
