Where: DoubleTree Hotel, 1150 Ninth St.

Info: Sue Garcia, chaplain for the Stanislaus County Jail, will be the keynote speaker at the Catholic and Professional Club's monthly breakfast meeting. In her position, she brings healing and hope to the incarcerated and has worked with those in grief and loss for more than 24 years. Where: Apricot Valley Elementary School, 1320 Henley Parkway

Info: The American Legion Post 168 and the Patterson Joint Unified School District will be holding a VA Mobile Medical Clinic. No appointment is necessary. Bring discharge documents and claim paperwork if you have it. Services on hand will include medical examinations, consultations and referrals; eligibility and enrollment assistance; claims assistance and review; national cemetery representatives; California Telephone Access Program; and veterans service organizations. Concessions will be sold by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Info: The Stanislaus County Library presents a Day of Play, a special program where children can participate in sports, games, crafts and other activities that encourage them not only to be physically active, but to engage their minds through reading. Info: Kathryn Marshall of the Lodi Family History Center will be the speaker at the meeting of the Tuolumne County Genealogical Society. Interested community members are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Marshall will give two one-hour presentations with a break in between. "Family Search/Family Tree" and "To the Wiki" will be Marshall's topics for the presentations.
