— Part of a tree fell on a truck in downtown Modesto Thursday morning, briefly tying up traffic near the busy Transit Center.

Nobody was in the truck when the heavy branch fell, police said. The incident was reported at about 11:15 a.m. during breezy conditions.

Police blocked off the right southbound lane of the street. A city crew responded and cut up the fallen part of the tree for disposal.
