Murphys woman reported missing

May 24, 2013

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing senior citizen.

Fay Burford, 75, of Murphys was last seen at a scheduled appointment in Walnut Creek on Thursday at 10 a.m. She was expected to arrive back at her Murphys home later that day but has not been seen or heard from since leaving the appointment.

Burford is driving a faded silver or taupe-colored 1996 Jeep Cherokee, license plate 4YMC949.

Records indicate that her bank card was used in Coalinga at 6:30 p.m. and in Lake Isabella at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

At this time, the sheriff’s office does not believe foul play is involved. It asks anyone with information about Burford’s whereabouts to call (209) 754-6500.
