GIRL SCOUTS EVENT

When: Tuesday and Wednesday, 6 p.m.

Where: Downey Park, Brighton Avenue and Coffee Road

Info: The Girl Scouts Heart of Central California is holding a two-day informational event. Find out how girls in kindergarten through sixth grade can have fun while gaining leadership skills, earning badges and making friends. A staff member will be on hand to answer questions and go over the volunteer opportunities within a troop. For more or to RSVP, call Debbie or Delores at (209) 545-3620. Note: A minimum of 10 girls must attend the first evening; otherwise, the second evening will be canceled.

MENDED HEARTS SUPPORT GROUP

When: Tuesday, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Sutter Gould Medical Foundation, Training and Education Center, 1700 McHenry Ave.

Info: Mended Hearts is a nationwide nonprofit volunteer organization that offers support and the gift of hope to heart patients, caregivers and their families. The support groups help people understand that there can be a rich, rewarding life after a heart procedure. This month's guest speaker will be Brooks Girton, Cardiac Independence Program exercise physiologist. Girton will have some exercise tips and band exercises. For more, call Robert at (209) 523-2341.
