Modesto commission recommends land task force

— After considering a proposal for a residential growth boundary to protect ag land Monday night, the Modesto Planning Commission voted 6-0 to recommend the City Council appoint a task force to look at protecting agriculture, water recharge basins, develop plans for an economic corridor and promote infill development.

Former Councilman Denny Jackman had asked the panel to consider his residential urban limit plan.
