Gospel group The Weatherfords

Lily Fern Weatherford began singing southern gospel music in the 1940s when she joined her husband, Earl, in his quartet in in Long Beach.

A decade later, The Weatherfords joined the staff of Rex Humbard's Cathedral of Tomorrow in Akron, Ohio, where they appeared daily on the church's nationally televised programs.

They performed at Walter White Elementary School in Ceres in 1967.

The Weatherfords moved to Oklahoma in 1968, and Earl died in 1992. Their son, Steve Weatherford, took over his dad's spot in the group, which is now a trio.

Lily has been featured in many of the Gaither Homecoming videos and shows, and she and Earl were inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in the 1990s.
