— The Oak Valley Hospital District announced this morning that its management contract with Dignity Health, formerly Catholic Healthcare West, will end as of September.

The change will not mean any changes to services at Oak Valley Hospital in Oakdale, the district and company said in a joint news release.

It said the decision was by “mutual agreement.”

Dignity, which has partnered with Oak Valley for 15 years, will not extend its services past the Sept. 1 expiration of the contract.

“Dignity Health has been a valuable asset to our district and we are grateful for their assistance over the past 15 years,” said Dan Cummins, chairman of the district board, in the release. “We are extremely pleased with the progress our organization is making and feel confident it will continue.”

Oak Valley, one of the smallest hospitals in the Northern San Joaquin Valley, serves Oakdale, Waterford, Knights Ferry, Riverbank, Escalon and nearby areas.

The release noted accomplishments over the past 15 years, including the first floor of a new main hospital, the expansion of clinic services, the construction of a new medical office and community education building, and improvements in the quality of care.
