LIBRARY HISTORY

When: Tuesday, 11 a.m.

Where: Riverbank Historical Museum, 3237 Santa Fe St.

Info: The city's past libraries and librarians will be the topic for a Riverbank Historical Society program. It will take place in a 1922 structure that originally was one of the many libraries supported by industrialist Andrew Carnegie. Organizers have evidence of another library dating to 1912, located in the Mission Shop and operated by Mrs. H.K. Hadley. The program is part of the society's Memories Day series, held the second Tuesday of each month.

BOOK CLUB

Info: Join fellow bibliophiles for the Salida Library Book Club meeting. May's book club pick is "The Dogs of Babel," by Carolyn Parkhurst.
