Girl in critical condition after falling into pool at Modesto home

May 10, 2013

— A little girl is in critical condition after falling into a pool at her home Friday morning, authorities said. Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputy Royjindar Singh said the girl, 1 or 2 years old, was with family members in the Morrow Road home when they realized she had gone missing.

“They start looking for her and find her in the pool in the back yard,” Singh said.

It’s not clear how long the girl had been in the pool. Someone started CPR while authorities were called. The calll came in just after 9:30 a.m.

Firefighters continued CPR, and an ambulance took the girl to Kaiser Modesto Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition, and was to be transported to Children’s Hospital Central California in Madera, Singh said.
