Cal State Stanislaus golf ers still in hunt for NCAA bid

May 7, 2013

— Despite shooting a two-over par as a team, the Cal State Stanislaus men's golf team is still in the hunt for a trip to the NCAA Championships later this month.

On Tuesday, at the NCAA Division 2 West/South Central Regional Championships at The Home Course, the Warriors tallied a team score of 290 for a 578 two-day total — that score puts them at tied for seventh place with Midwestern State.

Three Warriors all carded even-par rounds on Tuesday with Rob Damschen, Tyler Barker and Jeff Neeley all turned in 72s. Paul Smith was one-under on the day when the Warriors started on the back nine, but the sophomore had three bogeys before coming in at two-over 74. Smith still leads the team with a 142 two-round total, tied for 14th place.
