GARDEN CLUB

SENIOR AWARENESS DAY

When: Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Modesto library, 1500 I St.

Info: Seniors can learn about resources available to them through representatives from many organizations including CalFresh, the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, and Catholic Charities. NURSING FUND-RAISER

When: Thursday, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: Mary Stuart Rogers Center, MJC West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Ave.

Info: The MJC Nursing Alumni Association will hold a fund-raiser to celebrate nursing and honor outstanding nurses in the community. There will be dinner, an awards program and a basket drawing. Info: The Compassionate Friends is a nonprofit, nonsectarian support group for families whose children have died at any age, from any cause.
