Motorcycle rider injured in crash near San Andreas

May 7, 2013

A 33-year-old Angels Camp man suffered major injuries when his motorcycle crashed near San Andreas.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Shaun Hansen was driving a Harley-Davidson west on Highway 4 near Hunt Road when the cycle left the road and hit a concrete drain. Hansen was thrown from the bike and landed in the road.

The accident was reported at 9:50 a.m. Monday, but it's not clear when it happened, because there were no witnesses and Hansen was unconscious when another driver found him. Hansen was wearing an unapproved helmet.

He was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
