— A few metal posts and a concrete slab are all that remain of the former Lactalis cheese plant in Turlock.

In February, fire tore through the 59,000-square-foot vacant building on West Main Street.

Authorities say it was started when three homeless women tried to kill a man they’d argued with.

Building demolition began in late March.
