The Blue Diamond plant in Turlock has hung up a huge help wanted sign.
The new almond processing plant put up a freeway billboard advertising its open positions earlier this year. The sign can be seen driving along Highway 120 near the Highway 5 intersection in Lathrop.
The company continues to hire for the 110 position workers it will need to run the facility at North Washington and Fulkerth roads. All applications are being taken online and the company has launched a separate hiring website for the new Turlock plant at www.bluediamondturlock.com. The facility will have about 10 managerial positions and 100 plant jobs when it opens its first phase.
The Turlock Blue Diamond website currently list five job classification positions available, all for full-time work. One is a salaried environmental health and safety manager and the rest are the hourly positions of operations technician raw/finished goods, operations technician RTE, quality systems technicians and security officer.
To apply applicants must meet the minimum posted requirements. They will then be prompted to complete an online assessment. Candidates who move forward will take part in an onsite meeting and then complete a three-step interview process, skills assessment, background check and drug screening.
Blue Diamond spokeswoman Susan Brauner said hiring will continue up to the new plants 9 a.m. June 18 grand opening ceremonies.
