Cinco de Mayo events to be held in Turlock, Modesto

local@modbee.comMay 4, 2013

— There are at least a couple of ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo today. A large festival at the Stanislaus County Fairground will feature live music by Nena Guzman, Los Elegantes De La Banda, Dinastia Norteña, Chuy Chavez Jr., Elemento 3 and Mariachi Mexico Lindo.

Jump houses will be available for children and there will be plenty of food and drink available. Doors open at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds, 900 Broadway in Turlock.

Or if you’re looking for something a little different, the One Church: Bethel Campus in Modesto is having a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with free games, jump houses, piñatas, a mariachi band, lucha libre wrestling and more.

Organizers promise “fun for everybody. Mexican food served for a great price. And Pura Vida Shaved Ice will join us!” The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. at 2361 Scenic Drive.
