Sell your house to a vet

May 4, 2013

I am an Army veteran and I recently tried to use my military benefit VA loan to purchase a home. My wife and I have submitted several offers and been rejected. My wife and I have become very disheartened to discover that many people in our community care more about fast, easy money than they do about veterans and their families. For some reason, sellers are reluctant to accept offers from buyers with a VA loan. We have excellent income and credit history. Our VA loan is funded by the same major banks as conventional loans. The VA loan funds in less than 45 days. Aside from a few safeguards to protect the veteran, the VA loan process is very structured and simple.

With all the hype about patriotism and all those colorful ribbons on cars that purport support for our servicemen, you would think vets might get a break in this tough home-buying market. Stop being so patriotic on the outside and get more personal about how you can help a vet.
