On Friday, Cal State Stanislaus baseball needed more than Craig Beevers' two home runs and five RBIs against host Cal State San Bernardino. The Coyotes topped Stanislaus 9-8 to open their final CCAA series.

Beevers, an Orestimba High graduate, hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and a two-run shot in the seventh. Temmates Skippy Ferreria and Justin Charles also went deep for the Warriors.

Jake Pilkerton hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth to push San Bernardino over the top. The teams play a doubleheader today at 11 a.m.
