CALIFORNIA — As wildfires rage in parts of California to the north and south, the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit of Cal Fire is restricting burn hours.
Starting Monday, outdoor burning is permitted only from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m., the state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said in a news release Friday. Cooler temperatures and higher humidity during those hours make for safer burning conditions.
Fires are allowed only on permissive burn days, and permits must be obtained.
