TURLOCK NOW: Interactive arts event planned

Posted by Marijke Rowland on May 1, 2013

A free night of art, music and poetry is on tap for The Blue Owl Event in Turlock Monday.

The community event is the senior project of California State University, Stanislaus communication students Trevor Cook, Rochele Roura-Foster and Sue Yang. The evening will bring together local fine artists, musicians, poets who will all perform or create during the event.

Cook said the name of the event came from wanting to create an unforgettable experience like seeing a blue owl. The students want to bring together people from varying cultures to interact and share their art. Their hope is to turn it into an annual event if there is enough interest.

The Blue Owl Event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CSU, Stanislaus Main Dining Hall. The event is free to the public and free parking is located only in lot 11A. For more information visit www.facebook.com/TheBlueOwlEvent.
