MODESTO — The Society for Handicapped Children & Adults will open its second Endless Possibilities Thrift Store in Modesto on Wednesday. It's at 3124 McHenry Ave., Suite A, next to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore.
"We are very excited to bring a second store into the community," said Marci Boucher, the society's executive director, in a news release. "Our stores offer quality products at an affordable price point, while helping individuals with the necessary skill set to enter to work force. All proceeds from the thrift store go directly to the Society for Handicapped to increase our programs, offset operating costs and increase the capacity of the organization."
Donations of housewares, hardware, décor, furniture, clothing, toys, books, electronics, DVDs, CDs, jewelry and more are sought for the store and the original Endless Possibilities shop, at 1129 Eighth St. Donations are tax deductible.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Modesto Chamber of Commerce will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by refreshments and an open house. The store will open for sales and to receive donations.
The Endless Possibilities store on McHenry will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The store at Eighth and L streets downtown is open Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Both locations accept donations and are e-waste drop-off locations.
