FUND-RAISING EVENT

BAKE SALEAND CAR WASH

Where: Central Catholic High School, 200 S. Carpenter Road

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Info: The Modesto Kiwanis Club is holding its 60th annual pancake breakfast. Cost is adults $6, children $4. This fund-raiser helps the club carry out the various service projects that it does all year for the community. For more information, call Terry at (209) 604-2417.

GOLF TOURNAMENT FUND-RAISER

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

When: Tuesday

Info: Help improve the quality of life for seniors experiencing sadness and emotional difficulties by volunteering for one of two programs. Peer 2 Peer needs mature volunteers, age 55 and older, to regularly visit older adults facing difficulties or change, connect seniors to services, help them learn to cope, and provide support. Volunteers meet weekly with clients and are expected to meet with support staff two times a month. The Friendly Visitor program needs volunteers 16 and older to provide companionship to seniors who are lonely and have no support. Volunteers are expected to visit two times a month. Training for this program is available to volunteers at their convenience. Volunteers for all programs are eligible for mileage reimbursement and must complete a background check (cost is covered by the program.) DOG ADOPTION

Info: The Westside Animals for Adoption event will feature a supremely talented Queensland mix that knows some very neat tricks, two awesome cattle dogs, a terrier and two Chihuahuas who are the ultimate cuddle bunnies — and much more. QUILTERS PRESENTATION
