After reading about the cost of school bonds in the April 14 Bee, I think the next time there is a vote for a new bond, the actual cost should be voted on.
How many people voted for Measure A, approved in 2006, which was touted as a $40 million bond, when in reality the cost will be $128.3 million? When are the people of this county going to realize what is really going on? I am taxed enough already, and am sick and tired of bond after bond and tax after tax.
Editor's note: Sylvan Union School District's Measure A was approved by almost 57 percent of the district's voters. The count: 9,402 in favor and 7,124 opposed, according to the results posted on the Stanislaus elections office website.
