After reading John Gunderson's letter regarding Union Bank's sign, I wanted to take a look. I love all things classic Chevy. The artist who created this mural did a wonderful job. I hope we get more art like this around town.
When walking on the sidewalk, I could easily position myself to enjoy the view of this mural. Driving on J Street, the biggest impediment to viewing the mural is the city's tree. Maybe Councilman John Gunderson can have the city cut down the tree.
More to the point, Union Bank's sign was there first, years before the mural. Also, Union Bank has a long history of community involvement and philanthropic activity. Does harassing Union Bank over its sign best serve District 1?
So many issues are facing the city of Modesto jobs, public safety, infrastructure and more. Gunderson should provide his full focus and attention to the real needs of the city.
Thanks to Gunderson for Union Bank's address. A letter of support is headed their way.
