The Bus by New Conservatory Theatre Center

San Francisco's New Conservatory Theatre Center brings the West Coast Pride on Tour presentation of "The Bus" in May to the Gallo Center for the Arts.

"The Bus," written by James Lantz, is for mature audiences; it includes explicit language and mature themes. It's the story of two boys caught between their confusing and emerging sexual attraction, their families and their religious faith.

In the play, Jordan and Ian regularly rendezvous in a parked bus that belongs to the most powerful church in town, according to a press release. At night, they meet to explore sexual feelings that prove both awkward and humorous — and that must remain a secret. When their meeting place is in danger of being discovered, the boys find themselves caught in an explosive conflict with their church and Ian's father.
