MURPHYS — A Murphys man had a scary few minutes Monday when his tractor rolled over him after he parked it.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Gordon Eugene Sadler, 75, was driving a 1984 Kubota tractor on private property along Poag Road in Murphys at 7:30 a.m. when the accident happened.
Sadler stopped the tractor, but neglected to put it in park and set the emergency brake.
As he got off the tractor, the wheel caught his left leg, dragging him to the ground. The left wheel of the tractor rolled over Sadler's chest and stomach before coming to a stop.
Sadler managed to get to his feet and walk to the porch of his home, where he told his wife what happened and she called for help.
He was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with moderate injuries.
