I've read, with interest, of plans to explore the possibility of drilling for oil and gas in our great Central Valley.
With Earth Day being observed and activities planned to promote a more green lifestyle, why is our local representative, Kristin Olsen, among others across the state, seeking approval to fracture our Earth? The big oil and gas industries with their very deep pockets might be the answer.
If you drill (frack) a mile down, then go half a mile sideways, using hundreds of thousands of gallons of our precious water mixed with the toxic, unregulated chemicals, to fracture Earth's various layers (strata), what is going to occur? The poisoning of our air, land and water.
Oh, doesn't the San Andreas Fault run south from the Bay Area, then into the valley and down into the LA basin?
It's spring and time to spring into action and say no to fracking and instead yes to investing in clean, renewable energy, like solar, wind and hydro-electric.
Let's all start thinking green!
