Home runs by MP Cokinos and Matt Duffy powered the Lancaster JetHawks to a 6-1 victory over the Modesto Nuts Sunday, salvaging a split of the teams' four-game series at John Thurman Field.

Cokinos belted his first homer of the season off Nuts starter Tyler Anderson with one out in the top of the fourth inning to break a scoreless tie. Modesto evened things in its half of the inning when Trevor Story doubled home David Kandilas, who reached on a walk to open the inning.

The game stayed tied at 1 until the JetHawks erupted for five runs in the eighth, highlighted by Duff's three-run homer to left off Modesto reliever Nelson Gonzalez (0-1). Andrew Alpin later added a two-run triple to cap the rally.

Chris Devenski (2-0) pitched four scoreless innings in relief of starter Brady Rodgers to earn the victory for Lancaster. He struck out seven.

Anderson allowed one run on four hits and struck out six in five innings for Modesto.
