Politics and family at core of new play hitting Stage 3

April 17, 2013

Stage 3 Theatre in Sonora turns up the heat with a play about a family boiling over with secrets and political power.

"Other Desert Cities," a play by Jon Robin Baitz, hit Broadway in 2011 with the story of the Wyeth family as it was about to implode during a Christmas 2004 gathering in Palm Springs when daughter Brooke arrives and threatens to publicly reveal a longheld secret.

The politically powerful family has been keeping something under wraps since the 1970s. Parents Polly and Lyman Wyeth lived the American Dream, starting out in Hollywood and rising to the top power politics. But success came at the cost of their children.

"Other Desert Cities" contains adult language and is for mature audiences.
