SAN BERNARDINO — Harold Riggins knocked in three runs, including two on a key two-out single in the seventh inning, to lead the Modesto Nuts to a 5-2 victory over the Inland Empire 66ers on Sunday afternoon at San Manuel Stadium.
Riggins also had an RBI triple in the sixth, a two-out knock to center that scored David Kandilas, who tripled to open the inning. Kandilas, who had three of the Nuts' 10 hits, also had a hand in Modesto's three-run rally in the seventh with an RBI single.
Nuts starter Daniel Winkler earned the win after allowing one run on four hits and striking out six in 5º innings. Scott Oberg pitched a scoreless ninth for his first save.
Modesto visits Rancho Cucamonga tonight for the first of a three-game set with the Quakes.
