Survival of the most religious

April 7, 2013

Christianity, particularly conservative Christianity, is rife with contradictions. On the one hand, they treasure the life of a child; on the other hand they ban abortion, knowing full well that abortion bans in America, or any other country, do not affect the number of abortions that will occur. The difference is that where abortion is legal and regulated the mother is not likely to suffer.

Illegal abortions, on the other hand, are likely to damage or kill the mother. Christians also have access to the data which shows that family planning reduces the number of abortions dramatically.

Conservative Christians, the soul of the Republican Party, also oppose gun control. The Biblical reasons for this elude me. Christians also oppose decriminalizing certain drugs and euthanasia.

The upside of all these Christian positions is defacto population control! It should be clear that the purpose of unfettered reproduction is no longer survival of the species, but rather survival of the sect.
