The laws that our state and federal legislators are writing today fail the smell test. Example, gun laws. Does anyone really think reducing the number of bullets in a magazine or limiting the type of weapon one can own will stop murders?
Once the fear of God and what happens after death did, but today we are growing into a secular society which does not believe in God or what happens to you after death. At one time, even if you did not believe in God you were at least afraid of prison, but the laws our Legislature have written and our courts have chosen to ask have greatly reduced even that fear.
As a society we are going in the wrong direction, and counting bullets is not going to change that.
