Railtown 1897's Wildflower Train
Guests can experience spring wildflowers from aboard a train pulled by Movie Star Locomotive Sierra No. 3. The park is open daily, but the Wildflower Train rides are available only two Saturday afternoons April 13 and April 20 and depart from the Railtown 1897 Depot at 4:30 p.m.
Before boarding, passengers can learn about foothill wildflowers and Tuolumne County master gardeners will have a display with information about gardening with native plants.
The ride features rangers from New Melones Lake answering questions and pointing out flower groupings during the six-mile, one-hour roundtrip ride through Gold Country.
Tickets are $24 for adults and $10 ages 6-17; age 5 and under are free. For more, see www.railtown1897.org.
