The Turlock High baseball players have positioned themselves for a finals berth in the 44th annual Windemuth Spring Break Tournament.
Turlock (14-1) rolled onward Tuesday with a 9-2 over Enochs, the team that upset Central Catholic on Monday. The Bulldogs, 2-0 and on top of the tournament's Lagos pool, will qualify for Thursday's championship game if it beats 0-2 Johansen today.
The Vermeulen pool remains uncertain with Pitman and Escalon co-leading at 2-0. Pitman stopped Beyer 5-3 while Escalon the tournament champion in 2009 and 2010 defeated Modesto 3-2 thanks to Brandon Grogan's 2-out RBI double off the center field wall in the sixth.
Downey is 1-1 after the Knights scored a 5-1 victory over Redwood Christian. Pitchers Jordan Williams and Javi Claxton combined for the win.
