As a very close neighbor of the Morris Avenue Dog Park, I commend the vision, actions and hard work of the people who saw it to fruition. My dog takes me there every day to enjoy his friends, leaving me to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow dog enthusiasts! People are friendly and obviously love their dogs.
I realize how easy it is to feel that the park is far from civilization, thus giving the false sense that no one would be bothered. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. There are neighbors, such as myself, who are quite close to the park. While an occasional bark can be ignored, the prolonged barking of some dogs cannot. The park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. It is the accumulation of the noise that becomes unbearable.
I understand the need for dogs to communicate. It is lovely to allow our dogs the freedom to run and play and bark. I just wanted to provide an awareness that it is not always easy on the neighbors surrounding the park. Thank you for your kindness and consideration.
