SALIDA — A boy riding a bicycle suffered a broken arm and leg Sunday afternoon when he was struck by a car in Salida.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver was not at fault in the roughly 2:30 p.m. accident at McGinn Avenue and Morgan Street. CHP officer T. Stewart said the boy, who was riding his bicycle south on McGinn and against traffic, did not stop at a stop sign before entering the intersection. The boy was struck by car traveling west on Morgan.
Stewart said the driver did not see the boy in time to avoid hitting him. The boy described by Stewart as younger than 10 was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
