Someone stole my plants, too

March 24, 2013

I found the letter "Petty theft gets on nerves" (March 16) very interesting. I had the same kind of theft from my front yard two weeks ago.

I had nurtured, cleaned frost-damaged leaves, fed and watered four beloved plants, all for naught. Before I could enjoy the fruits of my labor, someone stole my plants.

They carefully moved bark and black weed cloth away from the plants, took the whole plant and root ball, then carefully replaced the bark and cloth.

Unless you were waiting for those lovely plants to bloom majestically, you would never notice anything amiss. What a sad commentary on our society!
