Other Compensation: City officials say 90 percent of this is for overtime, but it can include payments for such items as extral pay for working swing shift or graveyard and meal allowances.

Stipend: City officials say the stipend can cover such items as a uniform, boot and tool allowance. But in the case of firefighters with large amounts, such as those with stipends of $16,620, the money is for them to pay their health insurance premiums.
