Denair school board ponders interim superintendent

DENAIR -- The Denair Unified School District Board will meet for a closed-door session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the district board room, 3460 Lester Road, Denair.

The board will consider appointing an interim superintendent following the dismissal of Superintendent Ed Parraz on March 14.

It also will get updates on negotiations with its teachers and support staff.

The district is on the brink of financial insolvency and reaching agreements with its employee groups is critical to avoiding state takeover.

Any action taken by the board must be reported in open session, scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
