I am a single mother with a son who has been missing for one year and three months. In this time, I have searched for my son, passed out fliers in Modesto and Turlock, made a Facebook page, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is helping by putting his picture out there.

The Turlock Journal ran his story on the front page. As for law enforcement, that's a whole different story. The lack of concern is unbelievable. One female officer told me that at 16, he was old enough to be on the street. I wonder if she has children. I went to the FBI in Modesto and was turned down. Something is very wrong with the morals in this country when law enforcement and other sources will not help when a minor child is involved.

I just hope that these people never have to experience what I have gone through and am still going through. God help them.

Editor's note: The missing teen is 17-year-old Travis Tsesmilles. A Facebook page about the search for him can be found at www.facebook.com/pages/Missing-Travis-Tsesmilles/378454062226986.
