Traffic stop yields drug arrest in Ripon

-- Police in Ripon recovered drugs and weapons during a traffic stop last week that resulted in the arrest of a Ripon man.

According to Sgt. Steve Merchant, officers Mario Ysit and Rachel Beuttler were on patrol in the area of Frontage Road and North Stockton Avenue when they stopped a black Chevrolet Trailblazer near the Blu-Lite Liquor Store.

In the vehicle, officers found 121 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $2,400, packaging materials, cash and a switchblade knife, manufactured to resemble a firearm.

Police arrested Brandon Daniel Garcia, 20, of Ripon was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana and possession of a switchblade knife in a vehicle.
