Looking for a little bit of this, a little bit of that?
Lydia Beccard has the spot for you. She opened A Little Bit of This Shoppe in the Mercantile building in downtown Turlock last fall.
The store is aptly named.
Patty Guerra"I sell a bit of everything," Beccard said in an email. That includes home décor she gets from distributors, vintage items and some locally handmade pieces such as jewelry, candles, pillows and lamps "pretty much anything that pops into our head to try making," she said.
Beccard is planning a fund-raiser Monday evening to benefit the Turlock Police Department's Widows and Orphans fund, with a raffle and other vendors.
A Little Bit of This is at 200 W. Main St., Suite F. Contact Beccard at (209) 634-6604 or alittlebitofthisshoppe@yahoo.com.

How does this sound for your next pizza? A sauce blend of three different tomatoes, roasted red bell pepper, pesto, cheese, basil and red pepper flakes, topped with mozzarella, roasted duck, diced apples, dried cranberries and a sprinkle of blue cheese. It was good enough to win Sarah Adams, of Michael's Pizza Bar and Grill, top honors in a competition at a pasta and pizza food convention recently held at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino near Fresno.
I don't know if that particular concoction is on the menu, but Michael's is at 500 N. Carpenter Road in Modesto. Call (209) 575-1545.
West Side Stanislaus County residents will be able to get kidney dialysis closer to home soon. The Modesto Kidney Medical Group recently finalized a deal to develop and operate a dialysis treatment center in Patterson's Keystone business park.
Wellington's has pulled away from the station, so to speak. The longtime Turlock eatery and bar is changing its focus. Owner Tony Walker told me in January that he had plans to make some changes, bringing in a new chef, Sam Bans.
Wellington's has been a pub with a decidedly English theme for several years. It's been reborn as 10 East Kitchen and Tap Room. According to its transformed Facebook page, the restaurant and bar specializes in "Modern California fare with a global twist," as well as craft beers, small-batch wines and craft cocktails.
